RE: Benefit Status of Risperdal M tabs
As notified previously, Risperdal M tabs are considered for coverage under Special Authorization only. It has recently come to our attention that Risperdal M 2mg tabs were listed on our open benefit listing in error. This error has since been corrected.
As such, claims for Risperdal M 2mg tabs will no longer be paid through our on-line adjudication system without prior special authorization.
The Department considers special authorization of Risperdal M for patients who have a documented medication compliance problem and thus cannot use regular risperidone. Requests for special authorization can be faxed to 729-2851.
